Elon Musk’s Tesla Cybertruck and Cyberquad will be appearing on Jay Leno’s Garage. The next season of Jay Leno’s show for all things cars will be premiering on May 20.
CNBC Prime released the latest teaser for the upcoming season of Jay Leno’s Garage today, and it featured the Tesla Cybertruck, Cyberquad, and Elon Musk. The teaser included a snippet of Jay Leno riding inside the Cybertruck. The teaser also showed the Cyberquad for a fraction of a minute.
Jay Leno has been an open supporter of Tesla and its all-electric vehicles. The host of the Emmy-winning show owns a Tesla. He has talked about the less-than-positive tones some media outlets take when writing about the company or its CEO, Elon Musk.
“Every time Elon Musk has a problem somewhere, I see these columnists with such glee: ‘It’s going to fail, I hope it goes in the tube, I hope he’s going to ruin it,’” he continues. “I don’t understand why that is. It’s an American-made vehicle, made with locally-sourced products in America, using American talent,” said the comedian in a CNBC article.
Speaking of Elon Musk, Jay Leno said: “I think he’s beaten the odds. I think he’s a visionary.”
Tesla and Elon Musk have faced many obstacles over the years, including backlash from companies or investors that are avid supporters of the oil and ICE auto industry. Musk and Tesla have come far since the original Roadster and have even shown some strength during the current pandemic.
When the Cybertruck was unveiled in November, Tesla was just recovering from its most recent struggle. The EV automaker had survived Model 3 production hell the year before, and the sedan’s global ramp was going smoothly. Tesla was on the greener side of the fence when it revealed the Cybertruck to the world.
The CYBRTRK maybe one of Tesla’s biggest gamble yet. Even for an electric pickup, it isn’t conventional, but there seems to be strong demand for it. The Tesla Cybertruck’s tri-motor and dual-motor variants will be in production in late 2021. The following year, Tesla will start manufacturing the single-motor CYBRTRK.
