From a small start-up, Tesla has grown into one of the most influential automotive companies in the world thanks to its ability to create desirable vehicles. According to the data, Tesla is the most popular car brand for purchase in the world.

The automotive industry has changed a lot in the last 20 years. With the advent of Tesla, electric vehicles began to gain extreme popularity. The company develops technologies that make its cars the most advanced in the world. Such work has not gone unnoticed. Consumer love for and interest in the brand is the best indicator of this.

According to a study by AutoTrader UK conducted from January to December 2022, Tesla has proven to be the car brand that people want to buy the most around the world. The brand topped the tables as the most Googled car for purchase and sale in 39 countries. This was also true in 25 of the 50 US states, as well as in Canada, China, France, Spain, Germany, Australia, UAE, Scandinavia, Japan, and others.

Jeep was the second most searched car to sell, coming in first in 27 countries, including Iceland, Mexico, India, and the Philippines. Third and fourth places are occupied by BMW and Toyota. BMW is the most popular for purchase in 20 countries, including the UK, South Africa, and Jamaica. Toyota is most often searched for in Namibia, Lithuania, and Venezuela. Mercedes rounded out the top five automotive brands, coming in at number one in 11 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Puerto Rico.

Global and USA Methodology
Google search data was used to establish the annual search volume (January 2022 to December 2022 inclusive) in each country and USA state for 'buy + [car brand]' and '[car brand] + for sale' search terms (allowing for native language translations), for 203 different car manufacturers. The most searched for car manufacturer is named as the car brand that country or region wants to buy the most. Data correct as of June 2023. Data source: Google Keyword Planner.
