Elon Musk shared on Twitter that he wants to make a home HVAC HEPA filtration system. A home HVAC HEPA system would bring more depth into Tesla’s home solutions, which mostly comprise its solar products—for now, at least. An HVAC HEPA system for the home would probably be a welcome addition to the Tesla ecosystem.

Given the state of the world at the moment, an integrated HVAC HEPA system for the home may have some strong demand. Third Row member @Kristennetten took note of the possible demand for a home HVAC HEPA filtration system in her tweet. “People would be all over this. HVAC HEPA home filtration systems made by Tesla engineers, on top of the star home solar storage systems. A complete system,” she wrote in her tweet.

Elon Musk replied to @Kristennetten, saying: “Yeah, pretty much. House could talk to the car & know when you’re expected home, so temp & humidity would be perfect just as you arrive. No wasted energy.”

Musk essentially described a scenario that most Tesla owners are familiar with thanks to their all-electric vehicles. Tesla owners can already control the temperature inside their cars before actually getting in them. With a home HVAC HEPA system, Musk would be extending that use of power into people’s houses.

As @Kristennetten noted, an HVAC HEPA home filtration system would also complement Tesla’s solar storage system or Powerwalls. Musk’s idea would also work well with Tesla’s Solar Roof V3. With Tesla’s home Solar system and Powerwalls, there would be enough energy to keep an integrated home HVAC HEPA running at a reasonable price.

HEPA filters usually help air conditioners run better as well since there would be far less dirt and dust in the system. Home HVAC HEPA systems would make homes healthier to live in, especially for people with asthma or allergies.

In a time when health is paramount to survival, people will look for ideas and solutions to stay healthy. As always, Elon Musk seems to understand the essentials people need and want for a better life.
