Tesla Model Y became the best-selling car of any propulsion type in Sweden in December 2021, ahead of even the most popular Volvo XC60 and XC40 there. The share of electric vehicles in the country continues to grow and Tesla vehicles make one of the most significant contributions to this.
Car registration data from all over the world continues to come in, bringing in good news. There is a continuing trend towards the shift from ICE vehicles to electric vehicles, and Tesla cars are making a significant contribution to this. Previously, the company's cars were in the lead only among EVs, but the greater the production capacity of Tesla factories, the more cars can be delivered, which means now they can confidently compete with cars with internal combustion engines.
According to Bil Sweden last month, Tesla Model Y achieved strong results and became the best-selling car in Sweden, surpassing even the most popular cars there. The American manufacturer registered 1,532 of its compact SUVs, taking first place in the Swedish car market. Second and third places belong to cars from Volvo, the XC60 with 1,199 registrations and the XC40 with 1,184. Tesla Model 3 also entered the top 10 and finished in eighth place with 882 registrations.
It is noteworthy that five electric vehicles entered the top 10 best-selling cars in the country:
#1 Tesla Model Y
#5 Volkswagen ID4
#6 Renault Zoe
#8 Tesla Model 3
#10 Nissan Leaf
