Tesla job hiring in Germany has reached an all-time high. As Giga Berlin continues to ramp up production and operations in the country, the company needs a huge number of new employees.
While the media has alarmed the public that a wave of layoffs is coming at Tesla, the real order of things once again underlines how much they manipulate the opinions of their readers. Having exaggerated some things from Tesla CEO Elon Musk's email sent to employees, the media chose to ignore others, depriving some lines of it of context. Although the head of the company said that there would indeed be layoffs, he also explained that the total number of employees would continue to grow. Thus, we are talking about a typical optimization of the company, which no one would attach importance to if it were not about Tesla.
One of the most striking examples is the incredibly large recruitment in Germany. According to a recent assessment by Index Research (via WELT AM SONNTAG), the number of job offers from Tesla in Germany has reached a new all-time high. The data show that in May the company was looking for new employees for 1,293 positions across the country. This demonstrates that Tesla is not only not planning to slow down the hiring of new employees, but that it is moving into high-speed mode. For example, in February and March, Tesla had about 900 job openings, but since then, hundreds more have been added.
The Index Research estimate is based on data from hundreds of print publications and online labor exchanges, company websites, and the job portal of the Federal Employment Agency. Jobs with multiple ads are counted only once.
Most often, in Germany, you can find vacancies for factory workers. This is to be expected as Tesla ramps up production at its new factory. Giga Berlin is already running two shifts and is rumored to start a third shift after the battery factory is up and running, which should be before the end of this year. Of course, this will require thousands of new employees who will lead the company to achieve its mission.
Giga Berlin currently employs up to 4,500 people, according to the Minister of Economics of Brandenburg, Jörg Steinbach. According to him, Tesla hires between 500 and 600 people a month.
