Non-Tesla Cars Can Now Charge at Select Superchargers in France & Norway via Tesla App

Tesla continues to expand the non-Tesla Supercharger pilot project to continue making its mission a reality. Now some Superchargers in Norway and France will be serving different brands of EVs with the Tesla App.

In November 2021, Tesla launched the Non-Tesla Supercharger pilot, the expansion of which now continues. In addition to adding new locations, new countries have now been added to the project. Tesla announced on Twitter that non-Tesla vehicles can now charge at select Superchargers in France and Norway via the Tesla app, in support of the drive to achieve their mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.

The company emphasizes that access to an extensive, convenient, and reliable fast-charging network is critical to the large-scale adoption of electric vehicles. That is why, in 10 years, Tesla has opened more than 30,000 Superchargers around the world. All of them service millions of Tesla vehicles and are now helping to accelerate EV adoption.

With this pilot, some charging stations are now available to non-Tesla EV drivers in select countries via the Tesla app (version 4.2.3 or higher). Tesla drivers can continue to use these locations as they always have, and the company has promised to closely monitor each site for congestion and listen to customers' feedback on their experience.

Tesla recalls that the ambition has always been to open up the Supercharger network to non-Tesla EVs and thereby encourage more drivers to switch to electric vehicles, so this step should come as no surprise. Moreover, the company deserves deep respect for acting on its mission, and in order to benefit the situation on our planet as soon as possible on a larger scale.

More customers using the Supercharger network enables faster expansion. Tesla's goal "is to learn and iterate quickly, while continuing to aggressively expand the network, so we can eventually welcome both Tesla and Non-Tesla drivers at every Supercharger worldwide."
