Tesla CEO Elon Musk expressed concern that many companies use the name of the manufacturer to attract the attention of customers. The head of the company said that Tesla will put a stop to that, for which the new “hardcore” litigation department will most likely be used.
In today's world, the name Tesla is very popular. Although it was previously associated with the engineer, physicist, and inventor in the field of electrical and radio engineering, Nikola Tesla, in recent decades this has changed. After the founding of an electric vehicle company that was named Tesla (correctly pronounced as Tezla), the widespread recognition of the name caused many to refer to it.
Today, the company produces many different products in various fields, from hardware to software. Its main developments are related to electric vehicles, full self-driving (software and hardware), battery energy storage systems, including batteries for electric vehicles, solar panels/roof tiles and robots, as well as services such as Insurance and Autobidder software.
Such recognition of the brand name has led to the fact that unscrupulous companies use it to attract the attention of consumers, thereby initially misleading them, as well as causing damage to Tesla Inc. A great example is Tesla Power USA LLC, headquartered in Delaware, USA, which manufactures lead-acid batteries, lithium-ion batteries, chargers, UPS systems, etc. Although the company has nothing to do with Tesla Inc., its name and scope may confuse customers.
Now Elon Musk has paid attention to this and intends to take appropriate measures. On Tuesday, he tweeted that Tesla intends to stop unscrupulous companies using the manufacturer's name, often to advertise their solar products and energy storage batteries. “Also, other companies are using the Tesla name for solar and Powerwall. Will put a stop to that,” he wrote in response to a tweet criticizing fraudulent advertising.
Yeah, exactly. Also, other companies are using the Tesla name for solar and Powerwall. Will put a stop to that.

Apparently, this case can be handled by the new “hardcore” litigation department that Tesla is creating right now. As Musk previously explained, its main goal will be to seek justice, not victory at any cost. He said that the department will never seek victory if a company is justly sued, but will never give up if the case is unfair.
Tesla has been the subject of many lawsuits in its nearly two decades of existence. The company actively resisted unfair accusations in court, defending its good name. However, now the manufacturer wants to go on the offensive and move from defense to attack. Apparently, Musk is “out for blood” and seeks to restore justice, which has been violated for years. “Looking for hardcore streetfighters, not white-shoe lawyers like Perkins or Cooley who thrive on corruption. There will be blood,” he wrote in May, inviting experienced lawyers to join Tesla.
