An incentive plan for effective and sustainable mobility presented to residents of Spain, better known as the MOVES (movilidad eficiente y sostenible) Plan, was secured in 2020 with a budget of 65 million euros. This is 44% more than in the previous year (45 million euros in 2019). According to this plan, consumers will be able to receive up to 5,500 euros for the purchase of an electric car.
Residents of Spain can also receive an additional 1000 euros from manufacturers if the administration approves the request. Royal Decree 569/2020 was published on June 17, 2020.
The MOVES Plan is designed to support electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids (PHEVS). Cars with a diesel or gasoline engine do not receive any incentives.

Any individual over the age of 18 can take advantage of this incentives, as well as private companies, government agencies (including state universities) and government.
The budget of the MOVES Plan is managed by autonomous communities, so anyone who claims incentives should contact them and request it. An application may be submitted before the end of this year. Incentives will be deducted from the final price of the vehicle.
