Tesla China released its OTA v10.2 2020.4 update on China the day before Chinese New Year, revealing how mindful the EV company is about each country’s individual celebrations.
Tesla usually releases an OTA update for the holidays, so it makes sense that the company had something prepared to celebrate such a special holiday in China as well.

The update concentrated on two significant aspects for Tesla China owners, namely entertainment and convenience. Tesla China’s recent update seems to strive to make vehicles from the EV tech company more fun and easy-to-use.
Entertainment Improvements
As mentioned in a previous Tesmanian article, Tesla China, has released a different set of in-car games for Chinese owners. In late December 2019, the EV automaker’s China division announced the release of Tencent-powered online multiplayer titles.
The games were also mentioned in the recent OTA V10.2 2020.4 update. Some games featured in the notes included a Chinese poker game and Mahjong.
News about Bilibili—the YouTube of China—coming to Tesla vehicles broke around the same time as word about Tencent-powered multiplayer games was spreading. At the time, it was predicted that Bilibili would be released sometime in Q1 2020, and it proved to be accurate.
The YouTube of China was officially released with the latest update from Tesla China, along with four other streaming services, including Youku.
Convenience and Safety Features
The Tesla V10.2 2020.4 update comes with a QR code for maintenance purposes. All a Tesla owner needs to do is scan the QR code with their phone to set an appointment for the EV company’s local service centers.
A feature was added to the map software of Tesla China vehicles as well, which considers some local concerns consumers may have in the country. The new feature is an air quality index found in what seems to be the navigation application.
In the picture seen above, the feature can be found highlighted in red to the left of the Tesla symbol. The Air index can inform owners of the quality of the air surrounding them in each location they go to.
Tesla China owners can push on the air index message, and it will show them the predicted air quality for their current location in the next five days.
Last but not least, Tesla introduced Baidu maps in the v10.2 2020.4 updates. Baidu maps work in conjunction with Tesla China’s previous map application.
