Tesla opened its first pop-up store in Portadown, UK, which has already delivered vehicles to its first customers. In parallel with this, the company has announced the officially approved partner for body repair in town.
Store employees have already handed over the first new Tesla vehicles to four enthusiastic customers at its pop-up collection facility at Porter’s Bodyshop in Portadown, Lurgan Mail reported.
New Partnership...Anton Marnitz(L) from Tesla and Colin Porter from Portersâ€TM Bodyshop celebrate their partnership with Tesla Model 3.
Porter's Bodyshop repairs the bodies of other car manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz and Audi. Now Tesla has joined this list and brings a “chart-topping star-dust factor to proceedings” according to Porter’s MD Colin Porter.
“Welcoming Tesla onboard has been an absolute pleasure as has been the interactions with many of Tesla’s thousands of customers who have made the transition to electric power - a trend that’s set to stay and grow much larger.”
Porter said it took him a year to get things up and running. Also, it became an officially approved bodyshop and collection pop-up shop.
“It’s taken a year to get everything in place and become an officially approved bodyshop and collection pop-up shop, but it’s been hugely rewarding and a major achievement for us. Tesla don’t just build phenomenal cars, but they have a ZERO carbon footprint as well and have more brand cachet than a Ferrari! ”
Porter is delighted that the entry-level Tesla Model 3 has superior performance. He also notes that owners save money when buying Tesla EVs.
“Even at an entry level the Model 3 Tesla will take responsible drivers from 0-62MPH in around four seconds, with a range of 250 miles and no electricity charging fee.
“Customers who’ve collected their new cars from us have saved up to £8,000 per annum in company car tax. A win-win for everyone! "Tesla's representative in Ireland, Anton Marnitz, is delighted to partner with Porter's Bodyshop.
“We are a company operating at the pinnacle of technical innovation and chose Porter’s Bodyshop in Portadown as our official approved center of excellence because their core business values reflect our own.
“We are thrilled to welcome Porter’s to the Tesla family and we are especially grateful to have a pop-up shop format for new car deliveries and autobody repairs at their state-of-the-art facility in Portadown.”
First Tesla Customer...Andrew Reid and his daughter Jenna collect their new Tesla car from Colin Porter, Portersâ€TM Bodyshop and Anton Marnitz, Tesla Ireland.
The first customer, Andrew Reid, who used the pop-up shop, expressed his admiration for Tesla. He said he is switching from Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG to Tesla Model 3 for a number of important reasons.
“I'm totally sold on Tesla, their ethos and the technology. Collecting my car in Portadown from Porter's who themselves are innovators in the automotive field gives me complete peace of mind.
“I'm moving from a C43 AMG Mercedes-Benz to a Model 3 Tesla for business and personal reasons, but let’s just say that pound for pound there’s no comparison and the Tesla wins hands down."
