Tesla Model Y becomes the best-selling EV in Italy in November, capturing a 20% market share. Sales of the car more than doubled those of its nearest competitor.
Tesla continues to shine in the Italian car market. In November, its Model Y was the best-selling EV with 1,008 registrations, more than double that of its closest competitor. In second place is Smart ForTwo with 471 units sold, just a few units more than last month. In third place is Fiat 500E with 396 registrations. Fourth place went to Renault Twingo with 393 cars sold. Dacia Spring closes out the top five last month with 351 registrations.

In November, the Tesla brand accounted for 21.2% of sales in the electric vehicle market. But, it is worth noting that 1,008 Model Ys and 99 Model 3s were registered, so the main merit for dominating the Italian market belongs to the compact SUV. At the same time, the joint sales of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Group, with five different models sold in Italy in November, resulted in a market share of 18.6% and second place. The third most significant player was Stellanitis, automaker constituents of which jointly sold 884 units and occupied a 17% market share.
The Tesla factory in Germany continues to increase production, which will help increase sales in Europe. Giga Berlin is expected to reach a production capacity of 5,000 Model Ys per week in late 2022/early 2023. This will help the manufacturer supply more vehicles to Italy and further develop the electric vehicle market.
