Tesla Model X Plaid once again attracted attention with its performance, reaching a new record. Heavy SUV set a world record quarter-mile time for an SUV of 9.75 seconds.
Tesla produces top-end cars that can surprise motorists with their mind-blowing performance. The Tesla Model X Plaid SUV accelerates from 0 to 60 mph faster than cars in Formula 2, Formula E and Formula 1, and goes 1/4 mile faster than cool supercars. Although the Tesla Model X Plaid is a spacious family SUV, it packs a punch in terms of performance. According to the description on the company's website, the car has a top speed of 163 mph, accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and covers the 1/4 mile in 9.9 seconds. But obviously, the company gave modest numbers, because the experience of owners shows higher figures.
Last week, dragtimescom/Instagram shared a video of Model X Plaid running the 1/4 mile. Based on the video, the car delivered an impressive performance, covering the stint in just 9.83 seconds with a trap speed of 146.68 mph. And so, the $126,490 family SUV outperformed the $2,400,000 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport in the 1/4 mile, which was able to register a time of 9.9 seconds with a trap speed of 148.5 mph.
But this is not the limit for the 5,390 lb Model X Plaid because the SUV has demonstrated even higher performance. DragTimes/YouTube went to the track where this impressionable car shocked everyone. Now, Model X Plaid set a new SUV world speed record, covering the 1/4 mile in just 9.754 seconds with a trap speed of 144.88 mph. It should be noted that in the second race the car showed a better result, but the timing gear on the track did not work, and accordingly, the record was not registered.
