Tesla Model 3 is the most popular electric vehicle model in the world, and its appeal continues to grow. At this point, chances are high that it will again become the best-selling electric car in the Netherlands at the end of the year, as registration data as of December 12 shows that Model 3 has once again enchanted the Dutch, and has become the best-selling plug-in for the entire year.
In just 12 days in December, the Dutch registered 1,734 Model 3s (up to 1,754 as of December 13, according to EU-EVs), already making it the best-selling plug-in in 2020 to date. According to the Governmental Service for Road traffic of the Netherlands, a total of 6,079 electric vehicles from the California-based manufacturer were registered this year.
Close behind Model 3 is Kia Niro, which has registered 6,036 vehicles. Third place belongs to VW ID.3 Pro with 5,428 registrations. Hyundai Kona has sold 3,598 cars. And rounding out the top five is VW e-golf with 2,942 registrations.

Model 3 has been a bestseller in the Netherlands several times this year. In September, interest in the Model 3 increased even more, further widening the gap between it and competitors. Since December is not yet over, the number of registrations will still change, but Tesla Model 3 has every chance of becoming the leader among EV sales in the Netherlands in 2020.
