Italy is recovering from the coronavirus crisis, which is reflected in the growth of car sales. Tesla Model 3 becomes the leader, overtaking the popular Renault Zoe in the country.
Quarter-end push Tesla brings the company 317 registrations, which was enough to overtake the French Renault Zoe with 314 sales. Closes the Top 3 Smart ForTwo with 260 cars. Volkswagen E-Up! gets 4th place with 235 units. The Peugeot e-2008 makes an unexpected record right to the 5th position, with 166 registrations, right above its sibling Peugeot E-208 with 158 units.
Also in the Top 10, the Opel Corsa-e takes 7th place with 136 registrations, the highest result to date, and the last of the three PSA models. Nissan Leaf (92 units), Hyundai Kona EV (73 units), and Smart ForFour (57 units) close the chart with very modest numbers.

Sales of electric vehicles remain strong in Italy. As the country's automotive market recovers after the collapse of the coronavirus. Total sales are returning to healthy levels and there is a trend towards an increase in electric vehicle registrations.
Sales of diesel and gasoline cars fell by 35% and 29% respectively year on year, which is a heavy burden for older automakers.
Fully electric vehicles occupy 1.7% of the market share, an increase of 53% compared to June last year. This result is the second-best month to date after record sales in February, achieved before the advent of coronavirus.
