Tesla Model 3 topped the list of best-selling imported cars in South Korea in June 2021. Tesla Model Y is in third place, showing the popularity and brand awareness in the country.

Tesla continues to conquer the South Korean car market by delivering thousands of its vehicles. In June, the company registered 2,884 Model 3s on the country's roads, making it the best-selling imported vehicle. Tesla tops the list of imported cars for the second straight month, as Model Y took first place in May with a whopping 3,328 units.

Second place belongs to the BMW 5-Series, which sold 2,021 units, just 49 more than its closest competitor. Directly behind it is Model Y with 1,972 registrations, which has firmly taken third place. Deliveries of the electric ccrossover from the Californian manufacturer began only in May and South Korea became the first market where Model Y was exported. Apparently, at the moment, the company's car deliveries are limited only by production capabilities, so in the future, their number may increase significantly.

It is also worth mentioning the number of sales of Mercedes-Benz, which registered 1,181 E-Class. In 2021, this model was the favorite in the South Korean market, until Model Y outstripped it in May. Now, for the second month in a row, the Californian electric vehicle has surpassed E-Class sales.

Selling only two car models in June, Tesla registered a total of 4,856 vehicles in South Korea. This brought the manufacturer third place behind Mercedes-Benz with 6,845 units and BMW with 6,503 in the automotive market among imported brands.

Summarizing the information, we can see that Tesla's sales in the country for the first half of the year jumped by 64.3% year on year to 11,629 units. South Korea is a fast-growing market for Tesla, which is reflected in growing sales, and the strong Korean interest in Model 3 and Y underscores this. In 2020, South Koreans showed great interest in Tesla vehicles and the manufacturer's sales in the country have grown almost fivefold from the previous year. Launching Model Y in the country's market was a very good strategic move that will ultimately significantly increase brand awareness and appeal.
