Tesla is launching a new Extended Service Agreement (warranty) for all of its vehicles, which can be activated through the Tesla App. It is active for two years or 25,000 miles and costs between $1,800 and $3,500 depending on the model.
Tesla has launched a new Extended Service Agreement (ESA) for Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X owners, which is only available in the US. Under the terms of the ESA, its period is two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. While the new program covers all vehicle models, Model S and Model X vehicles produced in 2021 or later are not eligible for it. The warranty can be purchased through the Tesla App and prices vary by vehicle model.

Keep in mind that this extended warranty, like other similar programs, does not cover everything. Tesla ESA covers the repair or replacement necessary to correct defects in the materials or workmanship of most parts manufactured or supplied by Tesla during the coverage period. This does not apply to the powertrain, which consists of a battery and motors. It comes with a standard 8-year or 120,000 to 150,000 miles warranty, whichever comes first. Tesla explained that the ESA is not a Maintenance Plan.
To purchase an ESA, just open the Tesla App and go to the “Upgrades” tab. There you need to select the option “Extended Service Agreement” and follow the instructions. Upon purchase, the ESA will be added to your account and will only take effect after your Base Vehicle Limited Warranty has expired.
