Tesla has announced that it will launch pricing for the Model S and Model X Plaid in China in January 2023. The first deliveries should take place in the first half of next year.
In the past few weeks, the stunning Tesla Model S and Model X Plaid have been on tour in China. The cars made their debut at the 2022 Motor Show and after that went on a trip across the country. The new products are shown in Tesla showrooms so that consumers can personally experience the power of the Model S and Model X Plaid. Such demonstrations caused a lot of excitement, because Chinese consumers wanted to order cars for themselves, however at the moment it is impossible to do so.
On Friday, Tesla shared the good news: the prices for the Model S and Model X Plaid in China will be announced on January 6, 2023, which likely indicates that the order page for the country will open on that day, and everyone will be able to order vehicles. The manufacturer also announced that deliveries will begin in the first half of 2023, meaning either later in Q1 or in Q2, which seems more likely.
Chinese consumers have long been waiting for the opportunity to order these models. So far, the special models have not yet been delivered to China, where they have been waiting for two years. Due to difficulties in starting production due to a shortage of components, Tesla could not produce a large number of Model S and Model X vehicles, so initially began shipping only to North America. Deliveries of cars to Europe officially began only in December 2022. With the release in China, Tesla will start delivering the new products to all its main markets.
