Tesla intends to start production at Giga Berlin at the end of 2021, Elon Musk said during a meeting with the Brandenburg state government Wednesday evening.

Giga Berlin is an unprecedented project in Germany. The speed, flexibility, and maneuverability of construction show that businesses can develop quickly. Despite delays in the approval process due to the establishment of the German approval system for similar projects, Tesla was able to erect production buildings, start installing equipment in them and testing some systems. The delays have led to the postponement of the start of production from mid-year to the end, and Tesla intends to start production on schedule.

During his unscheduled visit to Germany, Tesla CEO Elon Musk met with the Minister for Economic Affairs, Labor and Energy Jörg Steinbach and Prime Minister Dietmar Voidke in Berlin. During the meeting, Musk explained the importance of adhering to a tight schedule, according to later statements by politicians. The head of the company also said that he was ready to intensify communication with the public.

Prime Minister Dietmar Voidke said on August 12 that it was a "good and constructive conversation." Steinbach was also pleased with this meeting, in which important topics were discussed and which he called a "very relaxed evening meeting." He noted that the atmosphere was light, relaxed, and mutually trustworthy.
"Very relaxed evening meeting with @elonmusk, D. Woidke, co-workers on both sides and myself. In an atmosphere of mutual trust we discussed the remaining tasks. Thanks to you and your great family for this visit, Elon!"

On August 13, German Chancellor candidate and CDU leader Armin Laschet scheduled a visit to the Giga Berlin construction site. It is currently unknown if Musk will be there during the visit, although it is likely that he will join it. The head of Tesla will best be able to meet the guest, talk about Tesla and its influence on Germany and Europe.
