Tesla has reached another major milestone in China with the opening of the 1000th Supercharger station in mainland China. There are currently over 7,500 branded charging stations spanning hundreds of cities to further enhance the Tesla ownership experience.

Tesla in China is facing unprecedented growth in demand for its vehicles. Customers are buying them very quickly, and more than 300,000 Chinese-made Model 3 and Model Y vehicles are already on the country's roads. This is why Tesla is putting a lot of effort into widening its Supercharger network.

By the end of 2020, Tesla had built over 600 Superchargers in China, but set out to double that rollout rate in 2021 and appears to be on track with its plan. Tesla announced the opening of its 7000th Supercharger stall on August 14 and has made significant progress since then. The company today celebrated another milestone by opening its 1,000th Supercharger station in mainland China and providing 7,600 charging stalls. In addition to its Superchargers, Tesla offers over 700 destination charging stations with over 1,750 charging points in over 360 cities.

Tesla plans to expand its charging infrastructure as soon as possible in 2021 to increase customer confidence in charging anywhere in the country. The implementation of this plan is possible thanks to the fact that the manufacturer has opened a factory for the production of chargers in China. With its own factory, Tesla is able to expand its charging network even faster. Having a wide network of charging stations is one of the most important criteria when choosing an electric vehicle, which will not only attract even more customers but also give the company an exceptional competitive advantage in the new energy vehicle market.
