Tesla Giga Shanghai fully restored production and increased it. According to preliminary data, the Chinese factory delivered about 78,000 cars in June, setting a new record.

June has been incredibly productive for Tesla Giga Shanghai. According to preliminary data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) released on Wednesday, the factory has delivered about 78,000 Model 3 and Model Y cars. This is a new production record for Giga Shanghai, which once again lived up to the hopes, expectations, and praises of Tesla CEO Elon Musk. The Chinese factory's previous delivery record was 70,847 in December 2021, so we are seeing a major performance improvement here.

Delivery data show that Giga Shanghai was 142% more productive than in May, when 32,165 vehicles were delivered. In addition, this is 135% more than in June 2021. It also highlights how quickly the factory was able to recover from a 22-day production shutdown due to the COVID-19 lockdown and a month and a half of difficult recovery due to the strict restrictions imposed by Shanghai. It should be kept in mind that the CPCA published only preliminary data and more accurate information will appear only in a few days, however it is unlikely to differ significantly from those announced on Wednesday.

The successful recovery and ramp-up of production is also an extremely strong signal for investors. It is reported that Giga Shanghai will be upgraded to further expand production capabilities. This indicates that Q3 2022 and further could be very strong, which will only strengthen Tesla's position in the market.
