The final construction permit for the Tesla factory in Grunheide may be obtained in 2021, says Brandenburg Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke.
According to Brandenburg Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke, a decision on the final approval of Tesla's electric car factory near Berlin is possible this year. “If the hearing is successful and the objections raised are properly dealt with, I think the approval decision will be made this year,” he said. Woidke was referring to the three-week process of discussing objections to the construction of Giga Berlin, which is taking place right now.
Despite the importance of the new Tesla factory starting operations as soon as possible, the politician believes that the approval must be legally flawless. Therefore, each stage of approval is carried out with great scrupulousness. The Prime Minister said that in this he trusts the responsible authorities of Brandenburg.
“Most importantly, however, the pending approval is legally flawless. Legal certainty must be maintained at each individual stage of the procedure."
Meanwhile, Tesla is not wasting time and is using its right to build with early approvals. At the moment, the company has almost completed construction of its German automobile factory and is now installing various of its technical systems. In parallel, the manufacturer is preparing for the County Fair, which is to take place on October 9, the goal of which will be to build friendly relations with the local population.
