Tesla Giga Berlin received two more preliminary building permits from the Brandenburg authorities. One of them concerns the construction of water tanks, while the other is about the building of a battery factory.
The state environmental agency of Brandenburg has granted Tesla two more preliminary building permits. The first permit allows the company to build a few rainwater and fire extinguishing tanks. This will allow Tesla to move forward even further in building its European factory.
Another permit allows the company to install a different shell for the battery factory building. Initially, Tesla applied for the construction of a warehouse, so the building had a different shell declared. However, the manufacturer later revealed the plan for the location of a battery factory there, so it was necessary to obtain permission to install a different shell that is needed for the building.
It took longer than usual to obtain the last two pre-approvals. According to government circles, this is due to the fact that the process of filing objections to the construction of Giga Berlin ended in August. The officials wanted to check the objections they received from citizens before giving their approval. According to RBB24, all the authorities involved have confirmed that final general approval for the Tesla project is likely. Without this so-called early approval forecast, the office is not allowed to issue preliminary approvals.
