Tesla Giga Berlin reached a production capacity of up to 1,900 Model Ys per week, nearly doubling production in just two months. In addition, the factory is testing new colors to expand the variants of vehicles delivered to customers.

The Tesla factory in Germany continues to ramp up production after launching at the end of March 2022. At the end of June, the Giga Berlin team reached its first milestone: reaching a production capacity of 1,000 vehicles per week. Since then, the factory has been closed for modernization to expand production and establish production lines for Model Y with a structured battery pack. After a two-week shutdown in July, the ramp-up of production seems to be happening faster now.

According to sources from teslamag.de, Giga Berlin is approaching a new milestone. It seems that very soon the manufacturer will be able to announce that it has reached a production capacity of 2,000 vehicles per week. People familiar with the matter told the blog that the factory is currently producing 1,800-1,900 Model Ys per week. This demonstrates an almost two-fold increase in production compared to the June figure. On the other hand, @Gf4Tesla/Twitter, citing an article from teslamag.de, indicated that the production volume of Model Y is now over 1,600 per week, which is a little lower than the figure provided by the German blog. In addition, @Gf4Tesla revealed that Giga Berlin plans to reach a production capacity of 2,000 cars per week by September 2022.

It should be kept in mind that the Tesa factory will achieve this production capacity when working in two shifts, which equals 18 hours a day, five days a week. The launch of the third shift is planned by the end of the year, which will enable the factory to work 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In addition, it is reported that Tesla should start producing Model Y in other colors, in addition to Pearl White Multi-Coat and Solid Black, which are currently being produced. Colors are still being tested and samples will be sent to the US to determine the final tone.
