Tesla's battery factory at Giga Berlin is making excellent progress and is well on its way to starting production. The German team is full ahead, despite misleading local news reports based on unnamed sources.
German news publication Handelsblatt has once again published information that casts a shadow over the development of Tesla's battery factory in Giga Berlin. The publication reported that the manufacturer encountered problems when trying to establish the production of battery cells, namely, due to the complex production technology. In an earlier article, it was indicated that Tesla is moving battery manufacturing equipment to Texas. In conclusion, Handelsblatt suggests that the manufacturer is postponing a plan to develop a battery factory in Germany. In its arguments and conjectures, it relies on “several sources” that told them about it.
Tesmanian contacted its sources at Giga Berlin to clarify whether this report was true. People familiar with the situation said that this report is not true, although some of the facts in it are correct. The source said that some employees of the battery factory at Giga Berlin went to the US to help set up battery production at Giga Texas. This was done due to the fact that Giga Berlin has great success and good specialists in the field. At the moment, the manufacturer does not plan to suspend or slow down progress in Germany, but only seeks to help its American factory increase the production of battery cells.
At the moment, Tesla has not announced its battery production success at Giga Berlin, which could be the reason for a lot of rumors. Obviously, Tesla's plans for development in its factories can change, but at the moment, there is no reason to believe that the battery production at Giga Berlin is somehow suffering, or is not going according to plan due to the development preference of Giga Texas. Perhaps during the Q3 2022 Earnings Report, we will be able to get more information on this topic.
