Paid Advertising is Not Necessary for Tesla, Here’s Why

Some Tesla investors and ordinary people still cannot understand why the company does not use paid advertising. The answer to this question is very simple: The company doesn't need it.

In fact, all automakers spend millions, if not billions, of dollars on advertising. Of course, these costs are included in the car price. Tesla, on the other hand, seeks to minimize the cost of its cars for buyers, so the company deliberately does not spend millions of dollars on this.

However, it should be noted that the company's cars have become so popular that they simply do not need advertising. The best advertising for Tesla comes from satisfied customers. When they talk about their driving experiences, most people at least want to test-drive a high-performance electric vehicle from the most popular and growing company in the world. Many people want one--or more--of their own.

From my own experience with social networks, Tesla vehicles have become a cult product, which is talked about not only by the owners but also by many ordinary people who would like to own one. These people advertise Tesla products better than any paid advertisement.

For example, in the recent segment of The Dave Ramsey Show, Rachel Cruze provided an excellent advertisement, talking about how cool they are and how they provide an incredibly enjoyable driving experience.

However, it cannot be said that Tesla does not advertise its products, because this is not true. The company advertises them, but the advertisements are their own. Elon Musk is the founder of several companies and they help him create better advertising for Tesla.

In 2018, SpaceX's Falcon Heavy Rocket launched Musk's personal vehicle, the original Tesla Roadster, into space as a payload. It was a worldwide advertisement that did not require any additional waste that Tesla would have incurred.

In May 2020, astronauts bound for the International Space Station in a SpaceX capsule were brought to a rocket in a Tesla Model X. Again, this was a global event watched by millions of people.

The Boring Company, like any successful Musk project, makes an excellent advertisement for his products. Those who still complain that Tesla does not buy ads simply do not get it. In fact, the company has the best advertising in the world; the company's vehicles are in such high demand, Tesla has to turn its to full attention to greatly expanding production.
