Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been talking for years about creating an electric pickup that would combine the performance of a Porsche 911 sports car with the functionality of the industry-leading full-size Ford F-150 truck with a starting price of less than $50,000. And then, exactly one year ago, Tesla introduced the long-awaited Cybertruck.
The presentation of Cybertuck was a very exciting event, because at that point, Musk had been talking about the pickup truck for seven years. In 2012, he tweeted that he would like to create a "Tesla supertruck with crazy torque, dynamic air suspension and corners like its on rails."

As Musk promised, the Tesla Cybertruck is indeed unlike any other pickup truck we have ever seen. It looks like a futuristic armored vehicle, which generally matches the description Elon Musk had previously given. It features an angular exterior, with a large bed and incredibly beautiful wheels. It sports a thick, durable stainless steel body that does not deform even when hit by a heavy sledgehammer.
Cybertruck's futuristic exterior will catch anyone's eye, but its capability--including towing and carrying capacity and range--are even more impressive. Tesla's one-of-a-kind electric pickup has a number of incredible characteristics for a vehicle of its class. It is heavy, but at the same time fast and maneuverable; it is large and angular, but at the same time has an excellent aerodynamic performance. All of this make for an incredibly attractive vehicle for just about anybody. It is not surprising, then, that at this moment, hundreds of thousands of people around the world pre-ordered their own.
Giga Texas, the factory at which Cybertruck will be produced, is already under active construction, and the first pickup trucks will begin to roll off its assembly line in 2021. Cybertruck is a revolutionary vehicle that will forever change the entire segment, and how the world views a pickup.
