Tesla customers in Texas purchasing a Model 3 in the coming days are eligible for one year of free charging if they qualify. This is a great bonus that can stimulate car sales.
Tesla announced on its website (via Sawyer Merritt/Twitter) that its Texas customers in eligible territories who order and pick up a new Model 3 between May 26, 2023, and June 30, 2023, will qualify for a year of free, overnight vehicle charging at home when they sign up with Tesla Electric this summer to be their retail electricity provider.
Once enrolled in the upcoming Tesla Electric Home Charging Plan for Tesla vehicles, qualifying customers will be able to seamlessly charge their new Model 3 at home and have their overnight charging fee waived for a year.
To be eligible for this offer, you must:
- Order and pick up a new Model 3 between May 26, 2023, and June 30, 2023
- Sign up with Tesla Electric and enroll in the Tesla Electric Home Charging Plan when invited
- Live at a utility service address that has retail choice in Texas
- Charge your vehicle at the same address as your home electricity location
Note: Existing Tesla Electric customers and Powerwall owners do not qualify for this offer at this time.
Tesla Electric and the Home Charging Plan
Tesla Electric is a retail electricity provider, bringing Tesla’s unique expertise in energy markets to lower the cost of vehicle ownership by enabling customers to save on their electricity bills.
Exclusively for Tesla vehicle owners, Tesla will offer a Tesla Electric Home Charging Plan in eligible territories of Texas. With the Tesla Electric Home Charging Plan, Tesla vehicle owners can charge their vehicle overnight at home for $30 per month ($1/day billed monthly). For eligible customers who order and pick up a new Model 3 between May 26, 2023, and June 30, 2023, Tesla Electric will waive the vehicle charging fee for a year for their new Model 3.
Note: The Tesla Electric Home Charging Plan is under development and may not be available upon vehicle pickup. Rates and terms are subject to change.
