Tesla's February 2021 sales data was released a few days ago. According to the data, Tesla registered 18,318 made-in-China vehicles in February, an increase of 369.69% over the same period last year. In parallel with impressive sales growth over the last year, Giga Shanghai was also able to sell 18.3% more vehicles than in January this year.

Tesla showed an impressive increase in production compared to February 2020, when it registered 3,900 Model 3. It should be noted that last year, the factory faced a temporary shutdown in production, which undoubtedly affected sales figures, although even if Giga Shanghai worked non-stop, the increase in production indicators would still remain quite impressive in February 2021. This became possible thanks to the continuous improvement of the production process and the use of the latest robotic technology, as well the start of Model Y production, whose sales already account for more than 25% of all Tesla registrations for cars made at Giga Shanghai.

Tesla Model 3 sales totaled 13,688 units in February, which remains strong. The recently launched Model Y had sales of 4,630 units, nearly three times more than the previous month. Tesla's electric SUV is extremely popular in China.
