Tesla China is teasing a mysterious new product due to launch in three days. Given a few hints and rumors, there is a good chance this is a gen 4 Cybertruck-style wall connector.
Tesla China is teasing the new product on its Weibo. The company posted an image of something, supposedly medium-sized, hidden under a black cover. The caption, written in Cybertruck style, reads something like “CyberVault.” There are several more inscriptions on the image. One of them indicates the countdown, which is currently three days. Another inscription, translated from Chinese, reads “Special shape, superpower.” This all gives us the first clues that may indicate we are talking about a fourth generation wall connector.
Two weeks ago, Tesmanian, citing Chris Zheng, who is known for his leaks on Tesla, reported the company is preparing to release a new wall connector in China. He said that it could be a more affordable wall connecter that could be purchased by a wide range of consumers and/or a next-generation wall connecter that could be in a Cybertruck style. This information is also a hint, which, together with Tesla's announcement, also indicates that the new product may indeed be a Cybertruck-style fourth generation wall connector.
Tesla also teased the new wall connector during Investor Day, when one of the videos showed a wireless wall connector with a floor dock. At the moment, it remains unknown how realistic such a concept will be, so it will be very interesting to see what Tesla China presents on Sunday.
It can also be a home energy storage solution as the name suggests. However, we will know more details in 3 days.
