Tesla has appointed a new manager at Giga Berlin, who will now be responsible for the further construction of the company's European factory.
After leaving the position of project manager, Evan Horetsky, who oversaw the construction of Giga Berlin and was also directly involved in the construction of Giga Nevada and Giga Shanghai, Tesla appointed Andre Thierig.
Thierig was previously in charge of the Paint Shop, which is expected to be the most advanced in the world. The information became known due to the fact that, in early November, he signed related Giga Berlin documents, according to Tagesspiegel. In addition, Thierig also signed official business documents on October 12, related to the cutting of industrial pines.
Tesla and Economy Minister Jörg Steinbach are expecting the factory to launch in 2021. The project is "in calm waters," Steinbach said on Monday at the state parliament's economic committee.
In view of present criticisms, Steinbach warned that the volume of criticism is disproportionate to the positive effects for the country, such as the domino effect on further settlements, which could now mitigate the negative economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis. He spoke with other companies “who want to come to Brandenburg,” the minister said. He also warns against one-sided criticism of the project.
