The smooth collaboration between Tesla and the German government is truly special to behold. Business and government have been able to show how concerted action can bring benefits to both in the shortest possible time.
Brandenburg Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke believes Tesla's Grünheide factory will be a signal to other investors. "It is a project with which we can show: Germany is a location with an efficient administration and a stable political structure, where investments can be made very well," he said to the Handelsblatt.
The speed of construction of Giga Berlin demonstrates to the world that Germany can be a great place for investment. With the right planning, its government will gladly help achieve the best and quickest possible result.
Woidke praised the collaboration with Tesla CEO Elon Musk on the Grünheide project. "There was never a crisis phone call," he said. "We learn from Tesla every day, and Tesla learns from us too."

Both sides understand what each party can and cannot do. For example, Tesla has to go through an approval process, so the company patiently does whatever is necessary. This procedure slows down the project a little, but the process must be legally secure, which will guarantee the legality of the factory and the peace of the government in the future. "Yes, speed, but not at the expense of legal certainty," said Woidke.
Public hearings begin on September 23rd, after which Tesla may receive an environmental building permit. The deadline for reviewing the company's construction documents and filing objections expired on September 3rd. Germany has a number of laws and regulations that can delay approval procedures for construction projects. That is why, in the country, you can find construction projects that have been ongoing for more than 10 years.
Despite this, Tesla showed great flexibility—demonstrating a willingness and readiness to change the construction plan as needed. Excellent collaboration between Tesla, German politicians, and representatives of the Greens resulted in ultra-fast, efficient construction.
Woidke is confident that, in the coming years, Brandenburg will be able to meet the needs of the new car factory for skilled workers. "Tesla exudes a great fascination," he said. "That is why I am happy when workers who went to the West years ago and now work for large automobile manufacturers, for example, come back to Brandenburg because they find the project exciting."
Also, the head of Brandenburg shared that he thinks about switching to a Tesla car. "At the moment I am driving a German brand from a manufacturer that also produces in Brandenburg," said Woidke. "But when Tesla gets started here, it will certainly be a question."
