SpaceX Shares An Inspiring Video Of Employee 'Life at Starbase'

SpaceX founder Elon Musk calls Boca Chica Beach in South Texas the ‘Gateway to Mars,’ where he established the Starbase factory and launch site for the Starship launch vehicle. The company is transforming the small village into a spaceport and resort where employees can enjoy living and working to develop the spacecraft that will transform humans into multi-planet species. –“SpaceX is committed to developing revolutionary space technology, with the ultimate goal of enabling people to live on other planets. Boca Chica Village is our latest launch site dedicated to Starship, our next-generation launch vehicle. SpaceX is committed to developing this town into a 21st-century Spaceport,” the company stated in an August 2020  'Resort Development Manager' job listing.

Over the last three years, the Starbase facility has grown and it already includes resort-like amenities, including: restaurants that serve daily warm meals for employees. Musk has previously shared that Starbase has a 'Tiki Bar' where employees can enjoy alcoholic beverages after a long work day. Today, November 4th, SpaceX shared an inspiring video of employee "Life at Starbase," shown below. The video features employees working on Starship development at the Starbase factory and showcases short video clips of the different amenities employees have access to, including restaurants, child-care services at an on-site 'Ad Astra School,' and there is even a fleet of silver Airstream trailers where engineers can rest right next to stainless-steel Starships. The company also throws parties to reward employees for their hard work and enable them to socialize to know each other more.

SpaceX Starbase teams are actively working on preparing the Starship SN24 and Super Heavy Booster 7 prototypes to perform the first-ever orbital flight test that will provide them with valuable insight into the rocket-ship's development. They aim to perform the launch before 2022 comes to a close. Starbase neighbors a public beach access and a U.S. National Wildlife Refuge. The company works closely with local animal conservation organizations to ensure safety of all wildlife near the Starship factory and launch pad area. SpaceX even has a sea turtle patrol rescue team at Starbase, which is also showcased in the video (linked below).
