SpaceX is turning the tiny Boca Chica beach village in South Texas into a ‘21st century spaceport and resort’ where employees can enjoy working to create a spacefaring civilization. “SpaceX is committed to developing revolutionary space technology, with the ultimate goal of enabling people to live on other planets. Boca Chica Village is our latest launch site dedicated to Starship, our next-generation launch vehicle,” the company says, “SpaceX is committed to developing this town into a 21st-century Spaceport.”
The company is looking to fill-up a wide range of roles at its Starbase facility, from engineers that help develop its Starship launch system to restaurant attendants that can create an enjoyable environment for everyone. SpaceX strives to always provide a great workplace for its employees. The company serves warm meals daily, it has an awesome outdoor restaurant made out of a Starship prototype’s stainless-steel fins. SpaceX founder Elon Musk recently shared that there is also a ‘Tiki Bar’ at Starbase. The Tiki Bar is in the backyard of a building with an orange triangle-shape roof. They are also building a futuristic bar on top of the highest Starship assembly building at Boca Chica. The high bay bar features large windows all around, enabling 360-degree aerial views of the rocket factory, pictured below.

In a new job listing, SpaceX is searching for a ‘Spaceport Mixologist’ bartender to work at the Starbase facility restaurants. Sounds like a job title straight out of a sci-fi film but its real. “We are looking for a passionate, experienced bartender looking to join our culinary team! SpaceX has a number of food service outlets and formats serving our workforce and are looking to add many more,” the company wrote in the job listing. “We are searching for candidates who have superior mixology experience with a focus in resorts, bars, and full service restaurants.”
The Spaceport Mixologist will be tasked with preparing “drinks, including hand crafted cocktail options, ensuring consistency and compliance with the restaurant’s recipes,” they stated.
