A refreshed Tesla Model 3 is spotted with new wheels during testing in California. The car is being updated as part of Project Highland and will have several changes, some of which are now hidden under cover in the front and rear of the car.
Tesla continues to test the refreshed Model 3. The Kilowatts/Twitter spotted the “Project Highland” vehicle during testing. Although the modified cars have been seen on the roads many times before, this time the Model 3 was different. The car had new stylish wheels that were different from all that are available on various models now. They look similar to the 18” Tesla Aero wheels but lacked a hubcap, which could give a false impression of their appearance.

Tesla is working on an updated Model 3 under codename “Project Highland.” In recent months, updated cars have been repeatedly spotted on the roads during testing and in parking lots. Their front end and back end were always covered. This hinted that the Tesla could have had a facelift. Tesmanian editor @SmokeyShorts/Twitter noticed that the front side door stamping has been changed. Now, you can see the curve that seems to continue beyond the side camera, the same as with Model Y. In addition, there is speculation that the company may have installed a new set of cameras. In any case, this is just speculation at the moment and more details will be revealed when the company is ready.

Some are expecting more information to come out during Investor Day on March 1, 2023, at Giga Texas. However, according to unconfirmed information, the company plans to start production at the end of this year, so it would be unwise to give exhaustive information right now. Among the major speculations about the changes to Model 3 is the use of HW4 hardware, new cameras, a structural battery pack, and a new manufacturing method that could cut its production costs significantly.
