Thousands of Tesla owners in Louisiana could lose the manufacturer's only service center in the state as the Motor Vehicle Commission tries to stop Tesla from performing warranty repairs there.
Tesla currently has one service center in Louisiana, which makes life easier for thousands of Tesla car owners in the state. This ensures that owners can get quick service if needed without having to travel to another state, which is a huge hurdle. While residents of the state rely on this service center to ensure their vehicle is running smoothly and safely, the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission is actually trying to prevent Tesla from providing warranty repairs there. If they have their way, Tesla owners would be forced to travel to another state for service, and the service center may need to close.
While the Motor Vehicle Commission is taking advantage of loopholes in Louisiana law to push Tesla out of the state at the cost of inconvenience and problems for its own residents, the situation is not hopeless. The company's top priority is to improve the quality of customer service, as well as increase the number of jobs and the growth of the state's economy. Therefore, Tesla is urging Louisiana Tesla owners to take action that could save their legal right to receive warranty service for their car in their home state.
The Motor Vehicle Commission is appointed by Governor Edwards and has the ability to allow Tesla to continue providing all service needs, warranty repairs, and otherwise for the company's car owners, and prevent the potential closure of Louisiana's only service center. The closure of this center would jeopardize jobs and the safety of consumers in Louisiana.
