Elon Musk took the Prime Minister of Israel for a ride in Cybertruck. He gave Benjamin Netanyahu a tour of the Tesla factory in Fremont, showing how modern electric cars are made. Prior to this, both had an open discussion about AI.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk gave Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a tour of the Tesla factory in Fremont, California, on Monday. It came after their publicly broadcast conversation, during which they discussed artificial intelligence (AI). Netanyahu and his wife received an overview of the company's developments and various models from Musk. In addition, they were able to observe the production and assembly process of the company’s modern electric vehicles.
However, the excursion was not the only thing Musk had in store for his guests. After a tour of the factory, the Tesla CEO took the prime minister and his wife for a ride in the futuristic Cybertruck, which has not yet been released to the market. It was a unique experience as riding in the steel beast is truly impressive.
A few hours before the tour, Musk and Netanyahu held an open conversation about AI along with OpenAI President Greg Bruckman and MIT Prof. Max Tagmark. Netanyahu called AI a “blessing and a curse” of today. They talked about the impact of AI on the future labor market. The Prime Minister said he wants Israel to be one of the leaders in this area.
“It took us a century to adapt to the industrial revolution. We only have a few years to adapt to the AI revolution,” Netanyahu said. “The first thing that can be done is to unite similar countries to agree on a code of ethics and conduct. We can do this within and between our countries... We can cooperate to ensure just the blessings and curb the curses as much as possible. We already do this in civil aviation and other areas. I appreciate the opportunity to consult with you about something that is so important to the future of my country and the future of the world.”
