Elon Musk has a Tesla succession plan that can be applied if necessary. He made recommendations of “particular individuals” who may be considered by the Board of Directors.
Elon Musk was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal at a special event in London. During the conversation, he was asked about Tesla's succession plan. This question worries many shareholders and those who are not indifferent to the fate of Musk's enterprises. Tesla's CEO said he told the Board of Directors about some individuals who he thought would make great CEOs for the company. The Board can use Musk's recommendation if something unexpected happens to him.
“There are particular individuals that I've told the board look If something happens to me unexpectedly, this is my recommendation for who should take over. The board is aware who my recommendation is. It's up to them of course,” Musk said.

At the moment, Tesla has strong leadership that is not only Musk but also other key professionals. Each of them makes a very important contribution to the development of the company and leads it to success, regardless of the economic environment. Potentially, each of them could become a candidate for the post of CEO at Tesla. The executives have been with the company for many years of its formation and development, so each of them would be an excellent candidate for the position of CEO.
