Today Tesla CEO Elon Musk met with Economy Minister of Germany, Peter Altmaier. Tesla received full support from the minister.

The German economy minister has promised Musk that the government will help in every way possible to achieve an early launch of Giga Berlin. “We are very proud of your car plant in Brandenburg and we wish you good luck with that,” Peter Altmaier told Musk at a meeting of Angela Merkel’s caucus group in Berlin. “You’ll have every assistance you need,” Bloomberg reports.

The region is showing positive signs of continued development despite the pandemic. Politicians are very pleased with the speed of construction of Giga Berlin.

Recently, Minister-President Brandenburg Dietmar Woidke noted that the construction of the Giga Berlin becomes more visible when you drive past the facility. He says that Tesla's factory has been the largest industrial investment in Germany since 1990. Although the project requires a lot of work, he is proud of Tesla's presence in Brandenburg.

"With all the modesty inherent in us Brandenburgers: It is the largest industrial investment in East Germany since 1990. And in the rest of Germany, you can hardly find anything comparable during this period. That's why we can be proud of. But it still takes hard work to make it a success. That is why we are working on the project with considerable human resources. And I would like to thank my colleagues in the authorities at all levels."

Aksom Altmaier understands the great importance of the Tesla plant. “If [Gigafactory 4] does not come, it would be a damage for all of Germany. If we are asked for help as a ministry, we will be happy to help," said Minister of Economics and Energy Peter Altmaier in an interview with Tagesspiegel. “I explicitly encouraged Elon Musk to make this investment in Germany. At Tesla, they understood that anyone who can build and sell cars in Germany can build and sell them anywhere in the world."
