Tesla has long been a symbol of change for the better. The latest example: Newly elected President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, arrived at his inauguration ceremony in a Tesla Model S.
This vehicle is atypical for Dominican politicians since in most cases they prefer large gasoline jeeps. Nevertheless, Abinader chose the electric car, symbolic of the changes that the new president has promised his constituents.
Tesla's electric vehicles represent a valuable option for the future in terms of intelligent, reliable, and environmentally friendly energy storage with the value of using advanced technology.

Abinader will succeed Danilo Medina, under whose rule the Caribbean nation has made important advances on the energy front, from intensifying efforts to increase the share of renewable energy and natural gas to an initial foray into hydrocarbon exploration.
Several points of the new president's program are aimed at the development of renewable energy sources and electric mobility in the Dominican Republic.
In January 2020, the Dominican Republic took a step forward in energy storage, introducing Tesla Energy Technology to the Dominican market—offering an intelligent, durable, and clean option to its people. Tesla Powerwall was presented at the headquarters of Raas Solar, a certified partner of Tesla Energy, where the first two devices of this product were installed in the country.
