It seems Elon Musk's suggestion that Giga Texas would have its own tunnel was filled with more meaning, and could be more real than anyone would have thought. The Boring Company equipment has already been seen at the factory.
A few days ago, Jeff Roberts/YouTube spotted Boring Co. equipment in the parking lot east of the Giga Texas main construction. It looked like a barrel for liquid, in blue, with a bold company logo. In addition, private cars and other heavy equipment use for construction were parked there.
In September 2020, Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded positively to the proposal for Giga Texas to build their own tunnel. Therefore, the appearance on the site of the Boring Company's equipment is not a complete surprise.
For sure

In early November 2020, The Boring Co. published a list of new vacancies in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Austin. For Austin, the company was looking for specialists in several areas: Electrical Engineer, Lead Electrical Technician, Mechanical Engineer, Power Electronics Engineer, Sr. Mechanical Engineer, Business Development Lead, and Lead Technical Recruiter.
A system of tunnels under the plant could help reduce the pressure on nearby roads, which is likely to increase due to the operation of the factory. And the advantages of tunnels for Tesla it is difficult to overestimate, as any deliveries, both freight and passenger (plant workers), can be carried out quickly and without hindrance.
The Boring Co. is trying to bypass traffic by creating a system of super-safe earthquake-resistant tunnels under cities. "We should build more tunnels. Put trains in them or cars or whatever, but every large city on Earth is plagued by traffic & it’s getting worse. Multi-level tunnels might solve this, so worth trying," Musk said.
