Tesla Model 3 Becomes Best-Selling EV in Switzerland in Q2, Leaving Competitors in the Dust

Tesla Model 3 became the best-selling electric vehicle in Switzerland in Q2 2021. Despite selling only one car model, the manufacturer became the best-selling brand in the country with a 19% market share.

Tesla Model 3 is without a doubt the most popular electric vehicle in the world. Europeans also have a preference for the Californian manufacturer, despite the fact that there are local manufacturers of electric vehicles in Europe. In Q2 2021, Model 3 became the best-selling electric vehicle in several European countries, including Switzerland, according to EU-EVs.

Although sales of Tesla Model 3 were only 204 units in April and May, this did not prevent the car from becoming the best-selling car in all three months of the quarter. Of course, registrations for the first two months of each quarter in Europe are traditionally low due to the time it takes to ship vehicles from the US and China. Nevertheless, the third month of the quarter always brings many pleasant surprises.

In June, 1,296 Model 3s were registered in Switzerland, making it the best-selling EV in the country. Tesla's sales in June alone surpassed the sales of each of its competitors for the entire three months of the quarter, a clear testament to the manufacturer's superiority.

Thus, in Q2 2021 Tesla sold 1,500 Model 3s in Switzerland, which is significantly higher than the sales of any other electric vehicle in the country. In second place is Volkswagen ID.3 with 843 registrations. Its younger sibling ID.4 took third place with 468 sales. Fiat 500E is in fourth place with 422 units. Renault Zoe closes out the top 5 with 411 registered cars.

In Q2 2021, selling only one car model, Tesla became the best-selling brand in Switzerland and took 19% of the market share. In second place is Volkswagen, which sells five EV models, with 17.8% of the market share. Renault, with a 7.9% market share, rounds out the top 3.
