Tesla continues to improve the Fremont factory to make it even more productive. Documents show the company is installing automation equipment and expanding its IT center there.

Recently uncovered documents show that Tesla continues to expand its factory in Fremont, California. According to them, the company is going to install new equipment for automation. In addition, Tesla is working on expanding its information technology (IT) center at this location.

It is well known that in Fremont, Tesla has very limited space. In addition, the factory has a highly inefficient layout that the company has been trying to correct for years. This results in Tesla going to extraordinary lengths to achieve what it wants and constantly optimizing existing space and manufacturing processes to achieve superior manufacturing results. It is worth noting that the company has been very successful in doing this, and the factory continues to amaze with production records, proving that production can be increased with intelligent factory space optimization.

After Tesla built tents on the factory grounds, many people laughed at it. Nevertheless, thanks to them, the company achieved true mass production, first of Model 3, and then Model Y, which became the basis of its continued success. Eventually, one of the tents became a permanent addition to the factory, according to the documents.

Modernization and expansion at the Fremont factory never seem to stop. According to recent documents filed with the City of Fremont, Tesla is investing $1.5 million to expand and upgrade its IT building. In addition, the documents also note that the automaker plans to install new automation equipment. The new production equipment will be supplied by the Chinese company MINO, with which Tesla has been cooperating for several years.
