Tesla CEO Elon Musk spoke at the World New Energy Vehicle Congress in China on Friday. He said that his company will work with national authorities in all countries to ensure the safety of intelligent and connected vehicles.

On September 17, Elon Musk joined the World New Energy Vehicle Congress in China. He answered a number of important questions about EV, FSD, and data security, due to the growing number of intelligent and connected vehicles. The Tesla chief notes that Chinese consumers want more connected cars with more intelligent features. Therefore, the company sees great potential in connected, full self-driving vehicles to grow in China.

Musk said public sentiment and support for electric vehicles has reached a never-before-seen inflection point because they know this is the future. Therefore, Tesla will continue to work hard to reduce costs and increase production in order to make electric vehicles as affordable as possible. Musk said he has a lot of respect for the many Chinese automakers that are adopting these technologies. He also stressed that Chinese car companies are the most competitive in the world, especially because some of them are very good at software.

The head of the company emphasized that Tesla is much more than just a manufacturer of electric vehicles. The company develops fully self-driving cars with practical, vision-based artificial intelligence, including chip design at the first level and at the training level. The manufacturer believes that autonomous driving can be achieved entirely by vision neural nets. Musk explained:

"After all, humans are running a biological vision neural net in order to do drive, so it make sence that computers would be able to drive using a silicon cameras neural nets. As said, safety is a top priority when we design Tesla vehicles and I'm confident that we can achieve full self-driving with 10 times higher safety than the average human driver."

In addition, the head of Tesla again spoke about data security, which, in his opinion, is the responsibility of not only one company, but also the cornerstone of the development of the entire industry. Musk has assured that his company will work with national authorities in all countries to ensure the safety of intelligent and connected vehicles.

"Tesla will work with national authorities in all countries to ensure data security of intelligent and connected vehicles. Tesla hopes to contribute to both a digitized future of shared benefits, responsibilities, and governance. With a rapid growth of autonomous driving technologies, data security of vehicles is drawing more public concerns than ever before. We figure it is necessary to address public concerns by applying appropriate technical measures."
