At the Q2 2020 Earnings Call, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced the location of the new factory. The Gigafactory for the production of the Semi, Cybertruck, Model Y, and Model 3 will be built in Austin, Texas and will be Tesla's largest factory yet.

For now, the plan describes a 280-acre building, although the company has purchased a 2,100-acre site. Of course, given the company's plans for the production of the Semi, Cybertruck, Model Y, and Model 3--as well as the presence of a recreation area on the territory of Giga Texas--it is not surprising that Tesla needs such a massive piece of land.

To understand how truly gargantuan the factory will be, all you need to consider is that the transportation inside it will be done using electric Semi trucks.

The plan shows that the plant will consist of three very long buildings and a space between them that will be used as roads. However, Musk clarified that the entire space between buildings will also be covered. That is, Semi will run inside a huge monolithic building.

Located on 2,100 acres of land and about 12 miles from Austin, Giga Texas will become not only Tesla's largest factory but also an ecological paradise. “It’s right on the Colorado River, so there’s actually going to be a boardwalk where there’ll be a hiking and biking trail. It’s going to basically be an ecological paradise, birds in the trees, butterfly, fish in the stream, and they will be open to the public as well. So, not closed and only for Tesla,” said Musk.

Giga Texas will be an environmentally friendly place that will become not just a stunning factory, but a park where people can enjoy nature and relax.
